The siding block of a light fixture can be a valuable and underrated piece of the light fixture. Without it your wall or house could get scratched, and the light fixture wouldn’t be able to sit on the wall. The biggest problem with these things is that they deteriorate. If you have a light fixture up for 20 years and take it down, the siding block could turn out to be a pile of rust. These blocks come in many shapes and sizes. Presumably, the fixture you buy will come with a siding block. But in the off chance it doesn’t, you will have to go to a lighting store and find one that will fit your needs.
