Fitting Blinds to UPVC Doors

IMG_1399

Installing blinds to a window or door is generally an easy process, and UPVC doors are no different. With a few simple tools you’ll easily be able to install your blinds to the UPVC door of your choice. Before you go out and buy your blinds do take proper measurements and make note of the measurements somewhere. You’ll need to do this to ensure that the fitting of blinds to the UPVC doors is successful.

Measure the width of your door and get the exact measurements of where you want your blinds to be set up. Not only do you need to measure the width of the door but you’ll also need to measure the height of the door so that the vertical blind that you’ll be installing will fit properly.

At this point you should have your blind. In order to install it you will need to find some way to attach the blind to the door. Generally instructions come with blinds that should be able to aid you in the process of setting it up. Typically you’ll need to drill several holes into your door in order to successfully set up the blind. Sadly, this is almost always required for fitting blinds to UPVC doors correctly. Sometimes the blind may come with other mechanisms that do not require drilling, but this is rare.

If you measured the blind correctly it should not be too long vertically to fit your UPVC door. If it is too long you’ll need to make some adjustments of your own. This will require a strong tool of some sort. It is recommended that you use a sturdy knife of some sort to do this. A jackknife is generally sufficient but you may also use a hacksaw if nothing else is available. After gathering the necessary tool, you’ll need to cut the blind so that it perfectly fits your UPVC door. This is done by using your tape measure and measuring out the height of your door so that there is no extra length left over and the blind fits properly. Be careful when doing this. It is very easy to make mistakes during this process. It is even possible you may injure yourself. Make sure to only cut the blinds on a flat surface with no hazards in the way.

By using the steps above you can easily go about fitting blinds to UPVC doors. It’ll be a successful and rewarding experience. When you are finished make sure to show off your beautiful UPVC door to your family and friends. It is quite certain they’ll be impressed that you accomplished the task on your own. Pat yourself on the back—you deserve it!
